FAQ

We want to use this space to address issues that have come up during Sexy Spring and via evaluations. More questions forthcoming!

Why aren’t there more meat/dairy options at breakfast/lunch during Sexy Spring?

There are many reasons why the food at Sexy Spring does not include animal-derived ingredients. First and foremost, our food is made by Food Not Bombs, a collective working for peace and an end to hunger by serving fresh, hot vegan and vegetarian meals for free. They cook only veg*n meals and with ingredients that would otherwise be thrown out. They can only serve us with the food they have! By providing us with free meals, FNB allows us to use our resources (money & time) to make Sexy Spring better in other ways. We also believe that our food should be able to be eaten by the most amount of people. Almost everyone can eat lunch at Sexy Spring without conflicting with their health or ethical needs. Plus, vegan food is dern tasty! Additionally, we do not have any means of refrigeration at our venues. Having meat and dairy sitting out for hours sounds like a recipe for disaster to us! There are many, many options for food around the University of Minnesota East Bank Campus if you desire different food from what we serve.
