Creating and Maintaining a Friendly and Accessible Environment
Scent-Free Policy
Sexy Spring tries to maintain a scent-free environment so that everyone can safely participate including those with allergies and Multiple Chemical Sensitivities. Please refrain from wearing perfume, cologne or other scented products. People with Multiple Chemical Sensitivities experience serious and debilitating physical and neurological symptoms when exposed to the chemicals found in most scented products. These ingredients can also cause problems for people with asthma, allergies and other immune problems such as cancer and HIV. Keep in mind that other intensely volatile substances like essential oils, tobacco smoke and “natural” fragrances can also cause or exacerbate problems for these individuals. Before you come to Sexy Spring, you should think about all the products you use during your day such as shampoo, soap, hair gel, hair spray, perfume/scented oils, lotion, shaving cream, makeup, etc. Scent free variations on these products are commonly available at grocery stores and drug stores.
A word on smoking at Sexy Spring — please try to go as far away from the entrances to the building as possible and don’t smoke in confined walkways where someone will be forced to walk near you to get by. If possible, keep your cigarette downwind from your body; the smoke that clings to your hair and clothes can still cause major problems for others once you’re back inside.
We appreciate everyone’s efforts in trying to make Sexy Spring a safe and accessible place for all.
Accessibility Resources
